    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • I enjoyed the placement thoroughly. From day 1 interns are given responsibilities that very much highlight the work that is done within a particular line of service in the firm.

    5/5

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?
  • While the level of familiarity between colleagues varied, the one common thread was that all colleagues were friendly and approachable. This is especially so when I had a question regarding the work assigned. No question was too small or bothersome.

    5/5

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • The supervisor was always there to ensure that I did not run into any problems. This ranged from a constant presence or dropping in throughout the day at my workspace (due to client engagements).

    5/5

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • I was kept busy, especially if tasks were completed beforehand. The work was within my scope and if I had questions they were willing to run it through with me. I was never overwhelmed with work or unrealistic deadlines.

    4/5

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • Responsibility was within my scope. I never was given a piece of work that was well beyond my experience or knowledge.

    4/5

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • I ultimately fortified the skills that I have been fostering; this included time management, teamwork, eye for detail etc.

    5/5

    The Company

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
  • Supervisor and colleagues kept it interesting with friendly chats throughout the day while still completing tasks.

    4/5

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?
  • There were a few rescheduling of client engagements, due to certain engagements being postponed well after placement period. But it was always within notifiable period and there were no issues.

    5/5

  • 9. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • The firm invested a great deal in its interns, myself included. This included being treated as a typical associate which included frequent meetings with a People Manager to identify goals to be achieved during the placement.

    5/5

  • 10. What were the perks on your work placement?
  • 3/5

  • 11. How appealing are future employment prospects within the organisation?
  • Acquired an employment contract with the organisation. From the work placement it is seen how the firm invests in its employees with a clear career trajectory

    5/5

    The Culture

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement students/colleagues?
  • Gained friendships with fellow interns that will continue well beyond the placement.

    5/5

  • 13. What was the cost of living and socialising in the area you worked in?
  • Placement was in London, and while expensive was well worth it.

    4/5

  • 14. What was the Nightlife like in the area you worked?
  • London nightlife is unbeatable and is worth checking out.

    4/5

  • 15. Were there many opportunities to get involved in activities outside of work?
  • There were a few opportunities such as social group events. But this has to be brought by the interns to colleagues and is not part of the placement.

    3/5
