  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?

    • Very enjoyable and suitably challenging.

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?

    • There was a strong sense of community. Everyone was approachable, even senior partners. I was made to feel very welcome.

    • Everyone was more than willing to take time out of their busy schedule to go through anything I didn't understand with me.

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?

    • PwC were good at making sure you always had stuff to do. It's up to you how hard you want to work really.

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?

    • A considerable amount. I was doing real audit work that counted towards the final opinion. I was completing and signing off EGAs (evidence gathering activities) that were just reviewed by my in charge.

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?

    • I developed a huge range of skills at PwC. These skills, such a IT skills and communication, have already helped at uni this year and i'm sure will continue to do so hereafter.

    The Company

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?

    • There was a great atmosphere in the office everyday as everyone was approachable and wanted to form a friendship with you that didn't revolve around work.

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?

    • Everyone involved knew their role. The 3 day residential at the start was so well organised and fun. We each had a mentor all the way through, and a well-structured project to complete.

  • 9. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?

    • From supplying us with laptops, to taking time to teach us everything we needed to know, PwC invested a huge amount in all of us.

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement students/colleagues?

    • I made several friends on this internship that I keep in touch with regularly.

  • 13. What was the cost of living and socialising in the area you worked in?

    • It's not cheap but it's good. I stayed at home for my placement and commuted, so the only real cost for me was petrol which was fine.

    • Southampton is a top night out.

    • Football teams, rugby teams, socialising, fantasy football leagues etc.
