The Role
So far I have really enjoyed my internship. People are friendly, helpful and inclusive. My manager has been very proactive and given me projects and activities to do, which I greatly appreciate as I have things to do and feel like I am useful.
I feel very valued. People are always happy to talk and want to help if I have a question or problem. This also goes for the other interns in a program.
I have been given guidance and help along the way. Even though many people have a busy schedule, many always finds a time when we can sit down and have a talk.
I have been busy all the day. All from projects that I have been assigned, shadowing or coffee meetings and keeping up with the market and news.
So far it has been very research-based but I have an on-going project that I think will be of value to my team in the future. I won't be surprised if I get more of these projects during the internship and this is something that I would gladly do as I find it fund and informative. My main aim for this internship is to get a better understanding of the financial industry and I will be reaching this aim the more research and projects I do.
It will help me gain a greater understanding of finance, rather than just getting a text-book definition. I learn better when actively applying or seeing things being done and this is one of the main reasons why I value this internship so much.
The Company
It is fast-paced and active. I enjoy this as it helps you stay alert and it makes it feel more like a community and interactive.
So far it is very well-structured. My manager is very organised and proactive, which I value. The only point I would say is for the rooms in the training-week to have been clarified (always being on the 36th floor).
I feel that by just giving me some of their time to explain matters and help me understand things more is an investment on its own. Also, I can image that by gaining access to Bloomberg for all interns is a big investment and all this I appreciate.
I would greatly appreciate the opportunity to work at Citi in the future. I enjoy the culture and employees. I can see this being a company that I would like to work for.
The Culture
Yes. The interns are very inclusive, fun and helpful. People are always eager to do things during the weekend, so no one spent the weekend alone.
I was surprised by the costs related to food. It was a lot cheaper than I expected, but I am also from Sweden and it's more expensive there.
I haven't tried the nightlife but afterworks were greatly appreciated.
Yes. The interns were very inclusive and proactive with organising things over the weekends.
