About You
I thoroughly enjoyed my week at Walker Morris. I found the collaborative approach taken by the firm admirable. The Real Estate department gave me a real insight into the firm and the work undertaken by the department. I was given real responsibilities and complex tasks from the get go. The trainees were very friendly and gave lots of constructive advice for the future.

The Real Estate department were very accommodating and were willing to answer any questions I had about the department and the firm which gave me a great deal of insight. The assessed exercises developed my skills greatly, especially the negotiation exercise. Spending time in the Real Estate department developed my time management skills greatly with several tasks given over the week. The information given by the trainees will be of great use to me in the future.
The Company
Overall there was a great variation of exercises and tasks alongside social events and networking. There was plenty of time in your chosen department which allowed me to get a real insight into the work undertaken. The social events enabled me to ask any underlying questions and allowed me to get to know the trainees who worked there.
Overall, I was very fond of the collaborative approach taken by the firm which was seen in my department and even amongst the trainees. There are plenty of opportunities within the firm to socialise, the trainees informed me of the current table tennis tournaments and a netball team. The Real Estate department was very accommodating and gave me real responsibilities which I find is desired.
The Real Estate department ensured I was given, and attended, a variety of work undertaken by the department. I completed work for the department and was allowed to attend the training meeting and the signing of a statutory declaration. The firm also ensured there were plenty of opportunities to ask questions.
I was given real tasks within the Real Estate department which enabled me to understand the work undertaken by the department. The trainee social and the table tennis competition amongst the trainees, which was ongoing at the time of my vacation scheme, gave me a insight into the social events within the firm.
It was very clear that Walker Morris values a collaborative culture. The trainees are very sociable and were very willing to answer any questions. The Real Estate department were very friendly and took the time out of their busy schedules to provide me with work, advice and feedback which was wonderful.
My week at Walker Morris made me certain on continuing my career path to be a solicitor.
Everything Else
I was not expecting payment but the firm made sure the payment covered our expenses which I was grateful for.
There were many opportunities to network and meet employees of the company. I was fortunate to sit in a large department where everyone was very forthcoming. The trainee social allowed us to ask questions and meet employees. There was also a trainee talk in the day to ensure all our questions were answered.
The networking opportunities were plentiful and everyone was very willing to answer questions and offer us advice.
From talking to the trainees it was clear there were plenty of social events outside work. The trainees were a close knit group which was admirable. They run sports teams and also have mini competitions within the firms such as table tennis tournaments across the departments.
I would definitely recommend the vacation scheme as it offers a real insight into the workings of the firm.
