About You
I definitely enjoyed the vacation scheme. Having done previous schemes at other firms I can say with confidence that this was one of the best schemes I have been on. The work was interesting, the socials were fun and I managed to get a great insight into the firm culture and work dynamic.
I felt very valued at the firm. The grad recruitment team in particular were very attentive to the needs of vac schemers and from an early stage got us all involved and socialising. In the firm itself people would make time for me which I greatly appreciated.
I received very good support throughout the scheme. My supervisors gave very good feedback and advice on all my work and everyone I had contact with was more than willing to guide my work and give advice and support.
I was able to get very good experience on substantive work matters which will definitely help me in my legal career moving forward. The Focus on sessions have also greatly helped my awareness of the legal sector more broadly.
The Company
The vac scheme was very well structured. Everything flowed very smoothly from one event to the next and the grad recruitment team was incredibly well organised. At no point in the scheme was I unsure of any section of the scheme.
I thought the atmosphere was very inclusive and very friendly. Everyone I encountered was willing to give up some of their time to talk with me and lend me advice.
The firm was very invested in my development with regular feedback meetings with supervisors.
The vac scheme, I felt, was a very good indication of how trainee life would be at this firm.
The vac scheme helped me a great deal in understanding the company culture. Talking to employees in a candid way was incredibly useful in helping me build a picture of the firm culture.
The content of the vac scheme was very helpful in informing my career path choices. I am now set on a career in law.
Everything Else
I was paid very well for this scheme, it covered rent, food and other expenses comfortably.
There were many good opportunities to socialise with members of the firm, especially trainees. This was in both formal and more informal sessions.
The social event opportunities were very fun and gave a good, candid insight into the culture of the firm and how the firm operates.
I did find out about these activities. Some vac schemers were able to go with current trainees to a pro-bono legal clinic.
I would absolutely recommend this scheme to any friend looking to pursue a career in law.
