The Role
I very much enjoyed my placement at Enterprise Rent a Car. The fast paced environment gave me an opportunity demonstrate my talents very quickly whilst developing skills that were not my key strengths. Also the atmosphere among the colleagues the majority of the time is fun and exciting.
I felt very valued by my colleagues as the whole team at my branch depended on me to perform well, making me feel important. Also being given the opportunities to attend account meetings and have mentor lunches made me feel like my input was appreciated.
The training provided by Enterprise Rent a Car is excellent. The whole HR team was very welcoming and informative. However, I would have benefited from more regular meetings with my branch or assistant manager during my training, to help me develop at a faster rate.
At Enterprise the pace is very fast, however this was enjoyable and made the day go very quickly. The day could have had more breaks to ensure that employees are well rested but this is not essential.
The scheme at Enterprise is engineered to allow all members on the internship programme to develop leadership skills, and eventually let everyone manage the team once they're ready. The amount of responsibilities given on a daily basis is also impressive, from managing customer service, to setting up and maintaining account relationships.
I will definitely be using the skills I learnt at Enterprise to help me with my degree. My work ethic has improved tremendously, and I cannot wait to transfer this into my work and achieve the best I can at university.
The Company
Sometimes the atmosphere can be stressful however most of the time the atmosphere is exciting and fun.
The internship programme is very structured and is organised to ensure that interns develop transferable skills and become leaders with the potential to become managers.
I felt that Enterprise invests a lot in its employees training, as there were many sessions throughout the year to help all of the interns grow throughout the year, and no expense was spared in making the interns feel welcomed and valued.
Financial Bonus
Company Parties/Events
Staff Sales/Staff Shop
Enterprise only employs from within making the progression at the company extremely strong with unlimited possibilities. For anyone looking to travel up the career ladder very quickly, Enterprise is the perfect placement.
The Culture
Enterprise regularly provides many occasions for branch meals, work nights out and the most impressive of all a Winter Ball where the atmosphere was very fun and the drinks were provided (which was awesome). All members of staff are very welcoming and are always up for a good time.
Bristol can be expensive, however I lived at home with my parents during my placement year making it fairly cheap and affordable. With the wage Enterprise provided I was also able to save up and put some money away.
The nightlife in Bristol is brilliant with a diverse scene that is inclusive for all. If one venue isn't working for you, there will be many more just a short walk that probably will be.
With the amount of time I spent working at Enterprise I did feel my social life start to decline slightly, and I felt I did have to sacrifice some of my social life for the role.
