About You
It was very enjoyable once I was settled. There was lots of social events and group activities that really helped us to settle in. The sports events were very enjoyable and the work itself was very varied which was enjoyable.
I was included in projects and involved in the write ups which made me feel valued. Sometimes I did not have a lot of work to do which made me feel less valued so perhaps more people offering work would be nice.
I received a lot of guidance and support. With everything I did there was someone there to support me or who I could ask for help which was very reassuring. The project was a very good exercise to carry out and I received a lot of help for that which was really nice of the team.
Extremely helpful! I have had a taste of the kind of work I will hopefully be doing for the rest of my career. Again, the project was really helpful to fully understand exactly what type of work each team does and how they relate to a project. I think the will really help consolidate what I learn in my final year of university.
The Company
Very well structured. We had a full schedule for the month which was packed with various events from social to informative and networking. They really have designed a great summer scheme!
The general atmosphere was friendly. I did feel slightly isolated in my first few days as my team was extremely busy so they were not as friendly which was hard but after the first week, the atmosphere was very friendly and entrepreneurial. I didn't find a close friend in my 4 weeks but hopefully if I came back I would click with someone more and be less worried about impressing people to be able to relax a bit more.
The company was regular seminars for all employees to develop and learn which was really impressive. Savills obviously strives to provide all the tools to allow each person to succeed. We had developmental overviews of each department which was really helpful to understand the company and which fields we could go into.
Very well. From all my other answers it is clear they try to give you a good taste of how life could be at Savills.
Very well - see previous answer.
Very - It allowed me to try being a professional consultant which is always what I have seen myself doing. I really appreciate the opportunity.
Everything Else
I was paid (minimally but I suppose they are tribally us so the wage was lower than a normal job) and they have offered to pay expenses.
Absolutely. There were lots of opportunities to network - in fct I think every event had an element of networking.
The were good. They were well organised and even had lots of free alcohol when it was appropriate or a free lunch which was nice. Sometimes they were a little daunting but I suppose that was appropriate. Maybe more relaxed and socially events could be nice.
Yes with regular emails. It was slightly harder to get involved in sports, as you needed to find someone who was already involved to be able to get into them.
Yes - it was very good and very prestigious.
