The Role
I really enjoyed every minute of my placement from the work I was given, to the people I met.
Everyone in the team was incredibly welcoming and really made me feel like part of the group.
I was encouraged to ask questions and was not only given support by my manager, but also by everyone in the team.
There was always a variety of work for me to do and I was often asked to do work by different people so I had to learn how to prioritise tasks.
I was given "real" work to do and never felt like I was there just to watch. As I completed different types of work, I was progressed onto harder and more challenging tasks. I was given the same kind of work that a first year graduate was given.
I improved my communication skills, team work skills, enhanced my knowledge of what it is like to work in the accountancy profession and learnt the importance of networking- all essential skills to return to my final year at university with.
The Company
One thing I was surprised at was how friendly everyone was in the office. Although everyone worked very hard, they always had time for you and I would look forward to going in every day.
It really was set up very well. Our first week was spent mostly at training down in London and all our flights and accomodation were booked and paid for. Taxis were also waiting to pick us up from the airport so we really were well looked after. There was always plenty of notice given when travelling was required.
Members of the team would spend time showing me how to use the various systems and programs beyond what I may need for the internship. I felt like a lot of time was spent showing me how to do various tasks.

Company Parties/Events
Very appealing and I was offered a graduate job. I really do want to hurry up and finish university now so I can return.
The Culture
Despite a lot of events organised for us by the company, the other interns were also really friendly and enthusiastic about socialising outside of working hours.
We were encouraged to participate in sporting activites and attend after work drinks and events.
