The Role
I enjoyed the placement, but the city (Milton Keynes) has been a very average place to live, which impacted greatly on the scheme.
I felt valued majority of the time but I also felt some of the work allocated was below me as I am a graduate completing a student placement (no grad scheme available at the time) and I think occasionally I was looked upon as a student and forgotten that I am at graduate level.
My Manager has been fantastic and I was given support in all areas of my role. I was not offered much support with personal development and had little to no interaction with the HR team here. The structure to all of our placements here has been very unorganised and lacking involvement from HR.
Very busy and generally had a greater workload to the other students.
I was given a lot of responsibility in terms of looking after my own projects and more so than the other students here. I think this was due to the fact I am a graduate and not a student.
The Company
Relaxed and friendly. Everyone has great work ethic and is very supportive
There was little to no structure for the placement. I was left to my own accord to guide myself through most of the placement, however this possibly also gave more freedom and opportunities than other schemes.
Very little. Often asked HR for more but they weren't able to provide us with any.
Flexi Time
Subsidised Canteen
Subsidised/Company Gym
National Travel
Company Parties/Events
Working from home
The Culture
Little interaction between the students as not many on the placement
Little to none - socialising is very poor. Cost of living is very high as well as travel
It would be ok if there were more young people in the area to go out and socialise with
