    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • Good working experience. Nice staff, friendly and open-minded. Good employee schemes , working conditions and interesting department and industry. You will have the chance of working with the National Sales Manager at the head quarters and assist her and the 3 Zone Managers. Good opportunity for improving excel skills and understanding how dealerships and headquarters interact for achieving their targets

    5/5

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?
  • They appreciate your work and they expect you to be creative and think. Always friendly and appreciate hard-working and ambitious people. Some proposals were not taken into account even if they liked them due to a lack of time and higher levels of work, but they were happy to see interest and hearing new ideas.

    4/5

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • The manager was young , liked new ideas and was always taking time to help you even if her schedules were full. They are busy which means that the amount of time that you spend with them is limited but they make sure that everything is fine and they are always willing to help you.

    4/5

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • Busy enough to finish at on time at 5:30 and do not get bored . The amount of work is good , and allows you have time to think about new reports, projects or initiatives which could be positive for the department. Always work to do but no stress at all.

    4/5

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • I was in charge of all the demo stock compliancy on the network, the large fleet audits and some reports and PPTs for G9 and national meetings. The tasks are not extremely difficult but the responsibility is high as your work has a big economical and corporative importance.

    4/5

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • It gives you the chance of doing a practical and real use of all the sales and marketing skills that I learnt on my Business Degree. The excel and Outlook training and the placement itself, has significantly improved my business, excel and power point skills . Since I started my placement I have received 4 job offers on LinkedIn without even applying, that's a good prove of this placement's potential.

    The Culture

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement students/colleagues?
  • There was, we were meeting within work and out of work. There were plenty of young people and significant part of them non local people who were always happy to make plans and travel with the company cars. Really good atmosphere with students and colleagues. Every time someone is living we do a farewell drink and we take time to meet each other and improve our friendship.

  • 13. What was the cost of living and socialising in the area you worked in?
  • Dublin is expensive. The rent is really expensive because a housing crisis and making plans at the city center and using public transport is really expensive as well. However is possible to pay rent, food , transport and other expenses with the salary. Socializing is really easy, people are really nice , friendly and is really easy to meet people when going out.

    4/5

  • 14. What was the Nightlife like in the area you worked?
  • In the area I worked it was calm. If you wanted to enjoy nightlife you could go to city center by taking a 15 min tram. The area is perfect for living and have a shopping center with plenty of shops including food and restaurants. The Head Office is close to it and we have some discounts at the shops and restaurants.
