The Role
Hard work and definitely some stressful days but that amount of responsibility your are given is phenomenal. To go from a university student to a store manager in the space of a few months is an extremely steep learning curve and I definitely wouldn’t have had it any other way.
There is a large culture of respect in Aldi, and at no point did I feel valued.
I was given support where needed and any questions I had were always answered thoroughly and expertly. However, you are expected to push your own learning forward, and this can be challenging for some.
Dependent on the day but mostly you have a lot of work to do in a short time frame. Efficiency and drive are all part of the culture.
Amazing amount of responsibility. Aldi put a lot of trust in you, and that in turn is extremely motivating.
Getting the most out of my resources and planning my studying hours more effectively are just two of the things I will now be implementing as a result of my experience with Aldi.
The Company
Very professsional at Head Office which is ideal for my personality.
Very well, some areas where there is a possibility of your training not being monitored as closely as it could be however.
Many training hours were invested in me to ensure I was able to perform a highly demanding role.
Subsidised Canteen
Above 25 days holiday
Extremely appealing. The Area Management scheme is renowned for its unparalleled opportunities in personal progression, and for its generous benefits package.
The Culture
Some socialisation but none overtly organised.
Birmingham prices.
Your spare time is very limited.
