The Role
Loads of experience in serveral aspects of practial engineering. (Note: This was a primary manufacturing site)
Use of 1-1 manager meetings to discuss workloads, workflows and targets to achieve. This is also highly dependent on the manager you actually get and whether or not their supportive enough.
Busy as I pushed for work/ experience.
As a placement engineer within a large corporation, it is almost inevitable that you won't get a project all to your own. That said, there is still plenty of oppourtunity to get highly involved and achieve a good level of responsibility if show a good level of competency and push for it. I was able to be the sole engineer on a project team. The support from more experienced engineers was always avaliable though.
The Company
There are some resources you can access, however your more likely to get training and development if you go for R&D.
Subsidised Canteen
Company Parties/Events
Staff Sales/Staff Shop
The Culture
Living in London, going out can be quite expensive unless its somewhere with studenty features.
London over Dartford
The commute from London to Dartford didn't leave much time for "opportunities"
