The Role
Thoroughly enjoying my internship. Strong team and incredibly supportive, with lots of learning opportunities and training being afforded.
As time progresses and trust is built, colleagues enable you do to your own thing and trust that you will handle certain things. In busy periods, they will also ask you to help review their work, which indicated real value to me.
Everyone is always readily available to speak and teach you things. Even whilst completing the work, people throw hints/tips/advice your way
There are definitely periods of down time, but on the whole always something to do and people to help
Too early into the internship, but already given a certain level of autonomy on my projects.
Very - not just the technical/fundamental skills of finance but also soft skills regarding best practice for conducting business and operating in a professional environment
The Company
Quiet and focused when everyone was working on their projects, however, everyone is very approachable and willing to help. During evenings/slower parts of the day everyone is open to catch up/have a chat.
From training, through to placement on the desk, things were very much seamless. Very quickly integrated into the team and offered numerous high tough points to ensure communication flows. Only draw back was tech (beyond much control), some systems tend to be a lot more rigid and harder to solve.
High level but comprehensive training programme offered by an external provider for a week. So significant for a 10 week internship.

Subsidised/Company Gym
Company Parties/Events
Would be ideal
The Culture
Yes
Cost of living is expensive, driven by rent prices and extremely upmarket stores - focused on the demographic though.
Some bars and restaurants scatter across - definitely busy on certain evenings
