  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • Couldn't have asked for more - friendly, fun, interesting, exciting. The whole package!

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?
  • Everyone treated me with respect - they assumed I was intelligent at all times but never assumed legal background information that might not be something I'd been exposed to before.

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • Regular check-ins and sit downs to iron out any kinks in the system, buddies for support, a senior to guide you in your work. The right amount of support but no over the top hand-holding.

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • Generally just right - they didn't keep me in burning the midnight oil and only a couple of times did I come up short on things to do (and not through want of trying on their part).

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • The RIGHT amount - noone wants to be running the show in an internship. I had independence in my work but someone always checked it make sure that any slip up would never have earth-shattering consequences.

    The Company

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
  • The lovely people at Linklaters know how to throw an EVENT. There was never a dull moment. No event ever went unaccompanied by an excellent variety of alcohol. Fun was definitely on the Linklaters agenda.

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?
  • VERY well organised. The program was clear, the social calendar well organised. I always knew what I was doing and where I was going. Reminders were frequent and buddies and HR staff always through in guidance where necessary.

  • 9. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • We had multiple training sessions every week - I thought this was great. They really invested in training you. We even had a particularly qualified staff member flown in from overseas to focus on our submitted work and offer us feedback -brilliant!

  • Wouldn't hesitate to work for them again! That one is a no-brainer. You could have confidence in good work and fun times to come.

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement students/colleagues?
  • 5/5

  • 13. What was the cost of living and socialising in the area you worked in?
  • Subsidised canteen was CHEAP. Really cheap.

  • Pubs surrounded us on all sides - getting drunk was easy.

  • We had social events at least three times a week. Socialising was effortless.
