The Role
It is the end of my 3rd week during my summer internship. I quite enjoy my internship so far with Citigroup. Citi really cares about diversity and equality: I met amazing intern friends across the Europe and from various background. The first week training was well structured combing training of Citi values, technical knowledge, senior speaker talks and system trainings. Shortly afterwards joining the desk, my team is really nice and already giving me responsibilities at early stage. I will continue to work hard and gain more knowledge over the summer internship.
My teams are very welcome when I arrive on desk, friendly and approachable when I ask questions or don't understand something.
My boss is very supportive on my work and has guiding me to be familiar with the business and team. He gave me a lot of good advice and materials to read about the business; he also spent fair amount of time regularly with me to go through my progress and explain anything if I don't understand. He really listens my voice if I raise something up or want to escalate to solve a certain issue.
I think my work has a good balance between long term project and work on a daily basis. We also have events arranged by campus recruitment team that can give us extra insights outside our desk, as well as opportunities to network with business representatives and the fellow intern colleagues.
My team is really nice and already giving me responsibilities at early stage. They spend time with me go through the background before give me the task. I start with learning about what does the team do, and they involve me with real projects, give me tasks to complete and follow up.
I feel the skills I've developed over the training are networking skills and the ability to navigate complicated financial systems.
The Company
The internship is well organised by campus recruitment, very thankful for their time and effort.
