The Role
Some days are good and some less good. Very stressful working in the city in general. People are nice on the internship and they gave me loads of work, but the timing was tough even though the pay was obviously good.
The MD on my desk hasd been so patient with me and quite frankly generous with his time. Most people are like this at Citi I feel, although people get stressed out quite. My supervisor was quite rude, and so were a few of the interns.
They gave me a lot of support and guidance everyone (well mostly everyone) was happy to help.
Very busy, I worked flat out whilst I was there, but it made the time pass quicker, although I did get quite stressed.
A fair bit, but at the end of the day I was just an intern, and the desk I was sitting at was quite complex. I wouldn't expect any more working in any other big corporate.
Training was very good, we had a week of training in the beginning with Fitch, and they gave us market maths teachings during the internship.
The Company
Stressed but accommodating, people were friendly. Some days were more relaxed than others.
Fairly well set up, only thing is that I would have liked to be shown around the office building before starting at my desk.
Highly, they trained us in the first week and provided us with training and mentoring opportunities throughout. The markets speakers series was also really enjoyable. We even had an evening with the EMEA CEO.
50/50 at this point...about to do my second rotation, I think this rotation went reasonable well considering it's not where I wanted to sit.
The Culture
Yes, the interns have been fun and we have been organising meet ups amongst ourselves. *would have been nice to have some pre-organised company subsidized activities.
Canary Wharf is expensive. >£5 lunches...even at the canteen which is overpriced.
Nice bars to go to after work. Particularly on Thursdays and Fridays the whole of the Wharf is outside.
Yes just because we organised them ourselves...not much to do with Citi honestly
