The Role
So far it has been a really great experience. Starting from week 1, the placement allows interns to network with each other to form strong relationships from the start of the programme to the end. The team I'm on and the teams I've met as well, have all been really friendly and welcoming at Citi.
As an intern rotating for only a short period of time, it's hard to seriously add value etc. However, the team I'm on has given me some important tasks that is vital for the bank to move forward with its operations. So for me it's been really rewarding tackling the work I'm doing because I know it goes to a bigger purpose.
Quite a lot. People are really supportive and willing to share help and knowledge whenever interns require assistance. People have been in our situations before as well so they understand how we feel. Feedback is always given on work, and nothing is slanted if work isn't done correctly first time.
Relatively busy. The work is quite intense, interns will have set projects to them prior to starting the rotation so that's really good of the employers to already have stuff prepared despite their busy schedules.
In regards to what I said about being valued, the work I was given required a lot of responsibility to get things right as soon as they can.
So much. I've learnt so much here and it's only been a couple of weeks in. I think the experience is really rewarding.
The Company
The desk I'm on right now is quite peaceful, not as rowdy as other places but it's really nice - people are nice, people are really chilled and always happy and friendly.
Very well organised, there's consistent activities organised by HR to enhance our internship experience.
Prior to starting, there were assigned modules for us to pre-study before coming to Citi. So this was really good. And after that, we were able to have a really solid induction week with team building exercises and in class training.
Flexi Time
Sports and Social Club
Subsidised/Company Gym
Above 25 days holiday
Working from home
Really appealing because there are rotations on the intern class, which is great and not many other places offer rotations during an internship. Graduates then get 4 rotations again.
The Culture
Really good social scene, constant events and our intern class has a really good relationship so we're consistently organising things to do.
Quite expensive, living I live at home so that's fine. But drinks are almost around a fiver each at AB1.
It's canary wharf...so there's not really any clubs etc, but a lot of bars.
Yes there is, a lot of are interested in rock climbing so there's a few facilities nearby our area. Also meeting up with friends from other companies.
