    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?

    • It was a really good year. Learnt so much more than I thought I would and given a great deal of responsibility which meant I gained valuable skills.

    • I had a great working relationship with my team and have made some friends for life.

    • I was good support from arriving at British Steel, management was always happy to help if I asked.

    • I was only just busy enough for the first 6 months, becoming much busier as the year progressed.

    • I was given full responsibility over my 2 main projects.

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?

    • The skills and training I have received will be invaluable. Improving my chances of success after uni and will give me a lot of knowledge that will be useful when writing my dissertation.

    • Atmosphere was very positive.

    • Good organisation and an effective induction programme.

    • The training was really just on the job training apart from an external course on internal auditing.
