    The Company

  • 5. How well structured was the insight?
  • The 3 weeks vac scheme is meticulously planned, and very well structured and organised. The first week is a fantastic induction week in London, where we were given invaluable opportunities to network with people from the firm as well as our peers, and listened to fanatstic insights and talk given by the partners and CEO of DLA Piper. The next two weeks are made up of work experience at the respective chosen offices, where interns were given real tasks. It is amazing how DLA put together video conferences and connect people from different offices (UK, Hong Kong and for insight sessions everyday

  • 6. How was the general atmosphere during your insight?
  • The general atmosphere is extremely friendly and supportive. I am being greeted with lovely smiles every morning, and carefree chat during lunch time, and of course, you are expected to do work to a high standard during work hours. But overall, it has been great and I had an amazing time here!

  • 7. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • DLA Piper invested A LOT per interns, I would say at least 3-4k per interns to cover our salary, accomodation, food, transport, social and many others. I have never been to a vacation scheme so well organised and so generous in making the interns feel welcomed and valued, DLA really put in a lot of efforts and investments in tyring to help us make the best out of the vacation scheme.

  • 8. To what extent did the insight help you to understand what it would be like to have a full time role with the company or firm?
  • It is brilliant that interns were offered the opportunity to seat in two different departments, and get real work and constructive feedback from both. We also have talks from practice areas leaders every day, which is fantastic in allowing us to better understand each department and DLA Piper as a whole.

  • 9. How much did the insight help you in understanding the company culture?
  • The vacation scheme opened my eyes to the friendly, supportive culture of the firm. I did my vacation scheme in the Liverpool office, and everyone is simply so lovely and friendly, and I didn't feel stress at all (apart from the last day where DLA tells you the TC outcome face-to-face).

    Everything Else

  • 11. Were you paid or reimbursed adequately for this experience?
