About You
I thought the firm was incredibly welcoming. The first week of induction really helped us to settle in, and I particularly enjoyed getting to know the other interns around the other UK offices. A unique opportunity!
Definitely. Hearing from very senior members of the firm everyday, and meeting them at various evenings and meals meant we felt valued as interns. The grad team also did a great job of being available to speak to if we had any issues or questions.
My supervisors each week were very supportive and answered any questions or worries I might have had. Setting the objectives in order to manage our performance rating was done in a clear and effective way.
Not sure. More about experiencing the firm and people than learning technical aspects of the law.
The Company
Very well structured. The induction week was action packed of activities, workshops and talks. The last 2 weeks also well organised, and the grad rec team communicated with us well via email.
Grad rec team were really fun and enthusiastic. The firm in general felt friendly, but also confident in their positioning as a major global law firm. Came across in an impressive, not intimidating way. The relations between interns was also supportive, and not competitive.
A great deal. The presentation workshops, pitching exercises and pro bono tasks were really valuable going forward.
Sitting in different practice groups, and experiencing the people, work and atmospheres on each floor gave a real insight into the firm culture and life. A few more social activities on an evening with current trainees might have been nice.
Everything Else
Reasonably well paid. As expected for a London internship.
Yes, lots!
Evening meals really enjoyable and great that the Partners were involved.
