About You
I very much enjoyed the spring insight programme at Unilever. It was not only a very enjoyable three and a half days spent at the company, but also proved to be a great learning opportunity, with plenty of great networking opportunities. The insight programme ran very smoothly and I very much enjoyed my time spent with Unilever.
For the duration of my time spent at Unilever, I was made to feel extremely well valued. The Early Careers team did their upmost to ensure that we had the best possible time on the programme and took the time to get to know each of our names and more about us as individuals.
I received a great deal of support and guidance on this insight. Before joining the insight programme, the Early Careers team was in frequent contact, providing us with all the resources and support we needed. On the insight programme, employees and recent graduates gave us plenty of valuable guidance and advice for pursuing a career at Unilever.
The skills that I developed and the information that I received will certainly benefit me in the future. Studying Business Management at University, I will be able to apply the knowledge that I learnt to my degree and the skills that I developed, such as networking and communication skills, will benefit me in future job interviews.
The Company
I found the insight programme at Unilever to be very well structured. The timetable was well thought out and was aimed at our knowledge and abilities as first year university students. All of the activities ran smoothly and there was a great mixture of networking and social events as well as employability workshops and presentations.
There was a great general atmosphere throughout my time spent at Unilever. Every single employee that I met was friendly and warm, wanting to know more about me and my background. Furthermore, all of the other student interns were equally friendly and open, making the insight week very enjoyable and fun.
I felt that Unilever invested a great deal into me as well as a great deal of resources which I can imagine was not cheap. We were given presentations on different career opportunities and paths, as well as activities which were designed to benefit our personal development. I have left this insight much more confident and self-assured.
This insight helped me to understand what it would be like to have a full time role at the company. Spending three and a half days in the office, I was able to gain a better understand of the atmosphere and culture at the firm. Furthermore, being able to network with recent graduates allowed me to understand more about the types of tasks graduates do on a day-to-day basis.
This insight helped me to understand much more about the company culture at Unilever. Unilever has a very unique culture and the Unilever Sustainable Living Programme is at the heart of everything that they do. The culture at the company is very purpose-driven and this was repeatedly stressed to us throughout the insight programme.
I found the content of the insight programme to be very useful in helping me to decide on a future career path. We were given presentations on each of the different functions at Unilever (i.e. Finance, HR, Supply Chain, Sales, Marketing), which I found to be particularly useful. We also had the opportunity to spend time in our chosen function.
Everything Else
I was reimbursed all of my travel expenses. Food and accommodation was included in the insight programme.
Yes, there were plenty of networking and social event opportunities.
I very much enjoyed the networking and social events at Unilever!
Yes, there are plenty of opportunities for staff to get involved in different activities outside of work. This includes the on-site gym and fitness classes, as well as various sport teams and volunteering opportunities.
Yes, I would absolutely recommend this insight programme to a friend!
