About You
Excellent work in a friendly and engaging environment. Work in two different and varied seats that provided insight in to life and work at the firm. Excellent socials organised by Trainee Council.
There was a truly open door policy at the firm. If I hadn't met someone one day then they would come and introduce themselves the next. This is also true of the partners.
Extensive guidance and support including my supervisor explaining a contract clause by clause for two and a half hours. Support from trainees also meant support was offered in a range of other aspects.
This did not aid my degree but did help me understand what life as a trainee at TW and life as a lawyer would be like.
The Company
Very well structured and organised. The trainee socials were excellent and the 'Focus On' sessions aided my understanding of a range of different practice areas.
Engaging and friendly atmosphere while busy. I was not short of work at any stage during the scheme, but it could have been more challenging at times.
I felt the firm invested a significant amount, mainly in terms of the time that was put in to each trainee.
Vacation scheme students were given similar work to trainees in terms of the nature, but we were taken through things when not understood.
The culture here is truly diverse and everyone here appears dedicated to being friendly while dedicated to their work.
It has confirmed in my mind that I would like to be a lawyer.
Everything Else
The pay was generous at £750 for the two weeks. This more than covered my expenses and on the social side, drinks were organised by the trainees and paid for by the firm.
These were comprehensively offered. Multiple opportunities to meet people from a range of different departments.
Very enjoyable events with the trainees while the partners were willing to engage and have a drink at other social events.
Yes, TW offers work for with Blackfriars as pro bono work to some vacation scheme students but this could have been allotted/spread across the students a bit better.
Yes, I believe my friends would enjoy working here, as would most people.
