The Role
I enjoyed my work during placement to a great extent as I was surrounded by amazing people who were always willing to help me develop
I managed for friendships with my colleagues and we all got on very well and always looked out for each other
My supervisors were with me every step of the way, taking a step back to let me deal with issues but also reassuring me that here would be there to help me if I ever got stuck
For the first half of the year, I was relatively busy with some chunks of free time. This changed in the second half of the year when I was handed more responsibilities which I have craved for.
I was given a great deal of responsibility, dealing with suppliers and the customer as well as meeting customer set deadlines
Some of the skills I have learnt over the year are transferable skills I will carry with me everywhere
The Company
The atmosphere in the office was always balanced. There was always a relaxing feeling when you got into the office which would make you feel comfortable and ready to get on with daily tasks. Sometimes the atmosphere would be tense if there was some serious topic being investigated
The placement was well organized for most of the year. However, a few more events where all students meet to discuss their development would be a great addition
I feel like I have developed a lot as a person and I see a difference in who I was when I started to now. I have undertaken some training courses that target character at work and how to succeed at Faurecia
The future career prospects for Faurecia are very much appealing. They offer graduates the chance to develop further whilst studying for a masters
The Culture
Some of the placement students met once a week for a game of football and occasionally met out side of work hours
Oxfordshire is not really the cheapest place to live in but it is managable
The nightlife is not that great in Banbury as it is a small town
Yes there where opportunities outside of work like joining the gym and meeting work colleague on the weekends
