Great team in a dynamic part of the bank filled with many opportunities for both technical and customer-facing work. Bank culture was also great with a very welcoming atmosphere. Provided work was a
Kept me involved in all their work, constantly friendly and warm every day.
Always approachable, gave loads of advice in any area I had interest in or whenever I needed help.
Was fully engaged during the working hours but was never required to stay late nor did I feel so overwhelmed that it was necessary.
Not much direct responsibility was given due to the nature of the work for full-time staff but this was understandable. However, was given numerous other supplementary projects which I was fully responsible for.
Gave context for many areas surrounding commercial businesses, the challenges they face, and bank operations, particularly the relationship between the customers and the bank. Also built many useful soft skills like pitching and presentation, and networking.
The Company
Dynamic, friendly team atmosphere day-in, day-out. Bosses were especially approachable which was a pleasant surprise.
Certain bank-specific learning tools (determined to lead) were not communicated very well to incoming interns. Systems used to log goals was unintuitive and difficult to use. That said, the rest of the internship was very well structured with planned assessment and events for interns.
Aside from work experience and exposure the firm did not offer much in terms of personal training and development. Most of the value added was done by my line manager.

Company Parties/Events
Great place to begin a career that will give a solid, rounded foundation in banking with a friendly culture and appropriately challenging work.
The Culture
Limited planned events involving graduates and interns with most social events being organised individually.
While not as expensive as London and still very affordable, cost of living in Manchester is slowly increasing.
Large student body with a city campus means lots of active clubs and a healthy nightlife.
While opportunities do exist, these tend to be limited due to Manchester's size.
