The Role
The culture is very open and inclusive, teams are always available to answer questions and clarify subjects, so despite the experience being very intense, you can enjoy networking and interacting with different people. Plus, the trading game helps interns to develop connections among each others, which can be useful for tomorrow.
Colleagues and senior people have always been available to answer my questions and encourage me to give my best. I felt particularly valued by the fact that I had to carry out some project that the team would actually implement after my internship, making me feel I really was taking responsibility.
The seniors and line manager have always be available to guide me and solve my doubts. Despite the responsibility of project was on myself, they always provided me with guidance when I needed their input. Of course when I did not need their input they have given my more degrees of freedom to see how I could find solutions on my own to the problems.
After the first days of shadowing I became more busy. This is because despite senior always gave guidance to me, it was my responsibility to solve the problems and technical issues related to it, but at the same time it is essential to do networking with other teams, so time left is little.
I was given the responsibility to create a tool that the desk would actually use after my internship to help itself to make decisions on a daily basis. despite my tool would be only an helping tool, I felt they gave me a certain degree of responsibility.
They made me a more complete person because what I learn during the internship was also of practical nature, so complemented the theoretical nature of knowledge that one has from university studies.
The Company
Fast paced and very dynamic environment, but people are keen to explain you what they do when they re less busy. Positive atmosphere overall.
Well organized. Rotations gives you the opportunity to see different bits of the bank activities.
I feel a lot of time was invested in my, both analyst and seniors made sure that the focus was on learning and provided me with constructive feedback.
Subsidised/Company Gym
Very appealing, the company would be the perfect place for people who want to go in this business due to market share, culture and franchise.
The Culture
Yes, a very good atmosphere among fellow interns also beyond work.
Cost of living medium, socialising not too high, depending on time to time.
ot much nightlife in the area, better to go to the centre for that.
