The Role
Citi did a great job in putting together a diverse class of summer analysts and connecting them with banking professionals in Citi. I liked coming to work every morning because every day I learned something new, met new people of got a chance to be involved in different activities and deals.
I felt that everyone was very appreciative about my skills and capabilities. I also saw my work being recognized by my colleagues even if it was the smallest thing like good research highlights or convenient folder organization. I was always made aware when I made someone's life easier ,for which people were very grateful
I received a lot of advice and support from my manager and my colleagues. Everyone was always happy to take a 10 min break to go over things that were unclear to me or that I could not cope with by myself. Even when I was in the office alone on Sunday, I could call my supervisor for advice
It varies greatly depending on the workload. Sometimes did not have time to grab lunch, other days could afford to go out for a 40 min break. One thing I appreciated that no one was 'creating' work just to keep me busy, on the contrary, efficiency and time saving was prioritized
The level of responsibility depended on the project and the stage at which I was involved in the project. As a rule, a was given more responsibility at earlier stages where research played an important role and the management was trying to get to know as much as possible about the topic.
I definitely gained a deep insight in the industry , which further helped me in writing my thesis. I have also improved my attention to detail, which was also instrumental for all activities during my studies. I definitely learned to be organized and efficient, which made room for extra research during my studies and beyond
The Company
Everyone was really nice to me and extremely helpful despite the fact that I was new to the industry and asked a lot of elementary level questions. At any time, I could approach any member of the team with questions and not necessary on a project that I was sharing with them
Very organized - the hierarchy in the team itself is pretty straight forward, so it was clear who works with who and what is the most efficient way to communicate. HR were also quite helpful and responsive and helped facilitate communication with staffer. The guidelines for training, social events and other programme milestones were communicated very clearly, too
I consider the main investment made by the company in my development is the time of its full time employees. My team members taught me how to use the tools that were available for research and training, shared other files that were helpful in learning and always gave spare time to go over things with me

I would very much like to get a full time here, because people are nice, the company is committed to wellbeing of its employees and overall mental and physical health. It is a very comfortable environment for anyone who likes to work in a team and is ready to work hard
The Culture
Although I did not get to see much of my fellow interns due to the rather hectic work schedule on both sides, it was always nice to chat or to have occasional conversations with them and share our experiences. The programme team facilitated our communication by organizing social events
I personally did not have to relocate for this internship - I stayed at my flat in Marylebone. I love the area and my rent is pretty cheap compared to the other similar properties in the neighbourhood, so I made a decision to stay there or the duration of the internship.
Unfortunately I did not get to explore nigh life in Canary Wharf as much as I would like to. However, bars around the area are very nice, you can meet a lot of interesting people there, including your own colleagues. It is always nice to spend time with your colleagues outside work to get to know them better
One opportunity that I particularly enjoyed was participation in a Global Community Volunteering day, where we got a chance to help restore the part around Tower Hill. It was a fun day outside and it was nice to see that we can have a tangible impact on the community as interns at Citi
