    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • I really enjoyed my internship at Citi. They have a great rotational programme and it really did provide an overall sense of the Markets division. Very well organised and some fun events along the way too, such as the Volunteering day with all the other interns. Learned a lot from the desks.

    5/5

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?
  • I felt really valued by my colleagues, and was given actual tasks that would help the team. Every one always made time, even if they were really busy. No one was ever rude and it meant that I felt like I could approach them or voice any concerns I had.

    5/5

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • I was given support and guidance by my managers on each desk to a great extent. All very approachable and made time. Had multiple coffees/catch ups with them to assess the stage I was at and how I could improve. Could reach out to HR if anything was wrong, although everything was fine.

    4/5

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • I was kept very busy on a daily basis. Whether it was spread sheets, presentations, pitches, talks I had to attend, trading game prep, and more, I was always racing around and had something to do. They encourage proactiveness and the programme is great in developing it's interns to a high standard.

    4/5

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • I was given a lot of responsibility during my internship. All work I completed was to help the team and desk and it was really used during my time there, and also after. They all relied on me heavily to complete tasks that were within my capacity but also pushed me to achieve more.

    4/5

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • You will not understand how useful the skills you develop are until you complete the internship. Having had such an amazing professional experience, you really understand the reality of working life and are able to implement skills such as time management into your life outside of work. Overall, I learned so much.
