The Role
This placement year has been very worthwhile. I feel that being able to have the same duties and responsibilities as all the full timers, I felt valued in the company. All the colleagues are extremely welcoming from the first time I walked into the office.
As I was on the Customer Service Team for (Mid-Haul and European) I was able to do the same work as the full timers, they did not see me as a student they valued myself like a full timer working.
The support system provided by all the managers and team leaders, was exactly what I expected and more, they always had an open door if you ever needed just a quick chat.
Every day we worked on our own workflow - we always tried to ensure that our workflow was below 7. Some days were busier than others, this could be because it was a travel season (for instance; March, April and May.), this was due to the nature of the business.
I was given the same amount of responsibility as all the European Customer Service Agents who worked at th company full time.
I feel that I have learnt so many transferable skills will I can now use for future graduate jobs.
The Company
The office atmosphere is a very young and vibrant. There was never a day where the office was silent. I really like the way the office is very opened planned, this meant that you had the opportunity to communicate with other employees.
As you probably know Golfbreaks.com placement scheme has been running for many years - I believe that they have really got to grips with the placement scheme and it is a clear to see that they work extremely hard to ensure that it works extremely well for all students. Which I can confirm that it has been a great year.
First few months I was on the Mid-Haul Customer Service Team, there was then an opportunity to move into more of a sales role. This shows that every student gets the opportunity to change their role for a couple of months to see if there was another role in which they prefer to work as may in the future.

After working for Golfbreaks.com for a year, there may be a chance that I would look into options for returning after I have finished my degree. I would definitely look into the different opportunities available around the business. I will do this by keeping in contact with my Line Manager and the HR Manager at Golfbreaks.com
The Culture
As the employees at Golfbreaks.com were definitely of the younger category, there were definitely lots of social activities available, either organised by Golfbreaks.com; for example; GONGS (awards night, and summer social.)
As it is in Windsor I would say that the cost of socialising would have been quite high. But as I commuted to work, I would not be able to give you a accurate answer on the cost of living.
There are lots of bars and clubs that are available to everyone, to be able to enjoy the night life in Windsor. They also have great connections to London and Reading.
I know that the sales team had weekly football matches against each region of the sales department.
