The Role
My internship has been thoroughly enjoyable, both from a social perspective and a learning one. The teams in the division are all so welcoming and are willing to help you learn and achieve as much during the 10 weeks.
Colleagues very much help each other to meet deadlines. I definitely did feel valued by colleagues and the more senior people on my team. This really helps motivate you to learn more.
My staffers have given me a range of projects to work on, which has made my internship a really well structured experience. You have to express interest in certain aspects of the team if you want to go on board with that project, but the staffers are so accommodating.
I have definitely found myself to be very busy and staffed on multiple large projects. It is good because it forces you to organise and manage your time well in order to meet deadlines.
I think I have been given a lot of responsibility working on projects. Often I was given a project and my colleagues would be there to help me if needed, but I was the main person working on that project. You have to be quite self motivated.
The skills I have learnt at Citi are definitely invaluable, and could only be learnt here. The skills themselves such as time management, working in a team, are all suitable to help me in my degree. Looking forward, the modelling skills I am learning certainly will help in the future.
The Company
While people are very hardworking, I have noticed that everyone in the team is also great to talk to. When working with the team for 12+ hours a day, this is so important.
The social events and talks arranged by HR were really insightful. The individual teams also staff interns on project in a very organised manner.
The team has given me learning exercises before official projects, which is definitely evidence of Citi really investing in its interns.

Very appealing given that people who work hard at Citi advance quickly. There has also been a large focus this year on women leaders, which is inspirational to the women in my intern cohort.
The Culture
When there is spare time, the other interns definitely act as a unit and we support one another.
Very good - all of London is great, especially zone 1. Canary Wharf is out of the way, but itself has a great night scene.
Canary Wharf is not known for its nightlife but the social scene is good.
The community challenge day was a good activity outside of the office.
