The Role
I can honestly say that I have loved my time at Samsung & would really like to come back. I rotated around different teams within the People Team (HR) & was able to get involved in loads of different projects and gain responsibility.
I felt really valued - my manager was especially great at recognising me & my work.
For me, there was a good support network within my team & from my manager. I have honestly had the best manager this year - she has been brilliant.
As I rotated around the teams when they were at their busiest, I was always pretty busy which was good. There were times where I was incredibly busy such as when I was part of the assessment centres for the new graduates and placements. I just had to make sure that if I was too busy, then I could talk to my manager & she could help me prioritise if necessary.
I had a really good balance - there was the chance to gain responsibility as I went on. My manager & team ensured I had enough responsibility that I was challenged, but not too much that I was overloaded.
The skills I've developed e.g. time management, navigating an organisation, public speaking will stand me in such good stead when in the world of work.
The Company
The general atmosphere was good! At times of the year - especially Q1 (Jan-March) it was really busy in the office, but the atmosphere was still fairly good.
The work placement was well organised - from the recruitment process to leaving, I think it's been great.
My manager & team were really invested in my development - I was given lots of different opportunities. In terms of formal development, there wasn't loads on offer however that is something that they are introducing for incoming placements this year.

I would love to come back to Samsung as a Graduate!
The Culture
There were just over 30 grads/placements that joined at the same time which was good. We have been out quite a lot - going to the pub or out in Clapham. A few of us also went on a holiday to Prague in March.
It's pretty expensive as the office is in Surrey. I actually lived in Wimbledon (a few other grads/placements live in London too) which is probably a similar price/slightly more expensive.
Not great, but I have still managed to have a good social life with work outside of work so I wouldn't be put off by it.
There aren't that many activities organised by work outside of work hours, so we tended to just organise things ourselves.
