The Role
The company was amazing to work for, they treat employees very well and from time to time there were little Disney surprises such as character visits. The workload was quite demanding and there were some times when I found it a bit overwhelming however I have had a chance to get involved in many different tasks which has been a valuable learning experience.
Everyone was really lovely and willing to offer help and support where needed. They would also approach me directly when they needed a relevant piece of research looking into so I felt like my contribution was valued.
When I had time with my manager she was very helpful in teaching me good practises in areas such as presenting and very much pushed me to achieve my best. Unfortunately she was very busy and often not at her desk so it made asking for help quite difficult at times.
There didn't seem to be a particularly good balance in workload, some days I was very overwhelmed by the amount of work and others there was very little for me to do.
I was given a high amount of responsibility throughout placement including coordinating research projects with agencies and helping to compile and present data to management and our other European teams.
I have learned a huge amount about Excel which will be highly valuable for my degree and beyond. I have also developed better presenting skills and have learned to use a variety of office based software.
The Company
The atmosphere was very friendly and everyone was really approachable.
The placement was well organised, there was a set procedure that was followed and I had regular meetings set up with my supervisor to discuss my progress and what to improve on going forward.
The firm sent me to a variety of different software training courses as well as various internal and extenal research presentations to give me an idea of what is occuring in other areas of research.

Working from home
There isn't a graduate scheme at Disney so it depends on which roles are available at the time.
The Culture
There were some intern only events that ran throughout the year such as a quiz and winter ball.
Disney is based in London so the cost of food and drinks is very high.
I commuted so I didn't really experience the nightlife.
We had new film screenings after work and went out for drinks/meals on birthdays.
