    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • I thoroughly enjoyed it. I was given lots of work to do and everyone in the team was eager to teach me skills. Additionally, whenever I asked questions they would give me in-depth answers to ensure that I fully understood the answer to the questions I asked them. It was a really good month.

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?
  • I was fully welcomed into the team and they were all very friendly. They appreciated a lot the work that I carried out for them, and would always thank me for the work that I did. I never felt under-valued, even though I was only with them for a short period of time on an internship.

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • Always ensured that I had work to do, and made sure that I achieved all the goals that I wanted to during my placement. Would email me in the mornings with daily tasks for me to achieve that day. Fully supportive in all the work that I carried out during my internship.

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • Always kept busy, helping out other members of the team on a daily basis. Whenever I had finished a piece of work or project, I would ask what I could do next and the team were always forthcoming with tasks for me to carry out for them. If they had no work then they would recommend me things to research.

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • Even within the first week I was given a good level of responsibility and towards the end this increased. The work I carried out was essential for other members of the team, so this shows how they valued the work I did for them. I would say I had a good level of responsibility for my position.
