The Role
I enjoyed my placement, mainly through the colleagues I worked with and the opportunities that were available throughout.
I was valued by most colleagues within the company and this definitely was an essential part of my placement year for me.
Most managers within the company give support and guidance when necessary and are easily approachable in most situations.
I worked in one of the busiest branches in the UK and we were constantly busy, whether that was with customers or just general admin duties. There was always something to do.
I was given an adequate amount of responsibility during my placement and this was definitely useful in coming back to university.
Some of the skills will be easily transferable to my studies, especially when working within groups as management skills can be used then.
The Company
The office was always lively and members of staff got on well with each other to ensure a good balance.
The whole placement year was well organised, by having regular training and constantly learning new things.
I think on the whole I was invested in by certain members of staff, but I do not feel direct management invested in me or were majorly concerned if I did not want to return.
Financial Bonus
I feel that future employment prospects within the organisation aren't too appealing at the moment, however if personal development was there I would feel more appealed to it.
The Culture
At the start of my placement we went out more, but this was not a regular occurrence. The work life balance wasn't always there.
I worked in central London so cost of living and socializing was very expensive in reflection to the pay, so it wasn't possible to socialize too much.
There wasn't much nightlife directly in the area, mainly restaurants and bars.
There were no opportunities to get involved in any activities out of work. Maybe once or twice.
