The Role
I really enjoyed my internship - the work was challenging, fast paced and interesting
I felt very valued by my colleagues - they were always willing to answer any questions you had but also challenged you and how you think about the world.
Management / supervisors were very supportive and were always willing to give feedback when asked for and always made clear what was expected of me.
Very busy - I had a good mix of tasks: some daily tasks for the desk, some longer term projects, some teamwork working on an investment presentation. People were also very willing to chat to you about markets
I felt I had a good amount of responsibility - I was relied upon to perform tasks which were important for client relationships and useful in supporting the relevant sales desks.
I have finished my degree so this question is difficult to answer on that basis. I felt the skills I developed will help me in life as the work was a good mix of fast paced decision making/ tasks with more reflective longer term projects. I found the Fitch training very useful for the internship.
The Company
Lively but focused where people were curious about the products they were working on.
Very well organised - training week helped me feel grounded and then the 2 rotations gave me a comprehensive insight into Citi markets.
Training was very comprehensive and prepared me well for the internship and felt there were always proper support channels if I felt I wanted to further my understanding on an area.
Company Parties/Events
Very appealing - I like the rotation structure of the grad programme placing an emphasis on people finding the right desk for them.
The Culture
Yes - interns went for drinks as a whole class most weekends
I lived at home but cost of socialising was expensive but normal for London
I didn't go out in the area around where I worked
We had a very fun charity day where we painted fences
