The Role
The majority of people were friendly and overall it was an enjoyable experience
Regarding project work there was a fair amount of freedom which I enjoyed. Guidance from my manager and buddy could have been improved. My buddy was away for most of the first week which made it difficult for me to get work within the department. I was perhaps just unlucky and I know many others had a lot of support and guidance.
I felt that the placement could have been organised better- for several days I had nothing to do and it was up to me to contact other areas of the firm to try and get work.
I felt I was given a good amount of responsibility considering it was only for two weeks.
A good experience and invaluable on a CV even if you are looking for something outside of professional service firms.
The Company
Im sure it will continue to improve but I felt that it could have been a lot more structured. It varied across the interns however and I know some had very exciting projects and client work.
Subsidised Canteen
I have confidence that if i were to pursue a graduate role with the firm, due to the established nature and length of the program, there would be greater opportunities to take on more responsibility and the program would be far more efficiently organised.
The Culture
Being new to the firm, I expected to go to lunch with my team. Others got asked to lunch with their department however this was not the case with me and I ended up having lunch with another intern and his team.
