I very much so enjoyed this insight programme at Nomura. I found each day to be genuinely enjoyable and there was also a lot to gain from the programme. This programme provided a great insight into the bank as well as a feel for the broader financial sector. I found the recruiting team to be very helpful and there were plenty of opportunities to network with employees.

I was made to feel well valued throughout. The recruiting team that supervised us during the insight programme were very welcoming, making us feel well-valued throughout our time at the bank. I found that they really took the time to get to know us individually. Furthermore, Nomura staff made us feel valued as they took time out of their hectic schedules to speak with us and this was a very beneficial experience.

I found there to be a lot of support and guidance given on this insight programme. Whenever I was unsure about particular topics or products, Nomura employees provided clear answers and help. At the same time, the programme does train you also to be independent, so you will be left to network and build connections and relationships with staff members by yourself by booking networking meetings and coffee catch-ups.

The skills and knowledge I developed will certainly help me in the future. During this programme, I gained a detailed insight into what working in the financial was like, and this knowledge will help me to build a career in this sector in the future. This programme also helped to develop my confidence and this will absolutely benefit me going forward!

The programme insight was very well structured and I found it to be well organised. There were hour long sessions during the entire day, each were intended to improve our understanding or skills in some way. The industry professionals were very interesting to talk to as this offered us a true insight into the industry we hope to enter in the future.

During this insight programme at Nomura, the atmosphere was friendly and whilst the atmosphere within the office is very professional, I felt that everyone was easily approachable. I also enjoyed the location of Nomura as it was in central London, the view was incredible and I was very impressed by the professional and 'smooth running' atmosphere at Nomura.

Whilst only with the bank for a short time, I felt very well invested in by Nomura over the course of the three insight days. Although the programme was only short, we had so many useful sessions aimed at our personal development. Over the course of the day we had sessions which included presentation skills and interview preparation, which I found to be particularly beneficial.

I gained a much better understanding of what it would be like to have a full-time role at Nomura. Spending time on a desk, alongside the Nomura staff, we were able to clearly see how their typical day is structured, including all the jobs and tasks staff undertake on a day to day basis.

The opportunity to spend time on a dedicated desk provided a really great opportunity to understand more about the culture. As well as this, just spending time in the office further allowed us to really understand the atmosphere and culture that was in the building and what the company is like to work for. Additionally networking events and work shadowing further allowed us to understand the culture of the company.

My time at Nomura reinforced my ambitions of pursuing a career in the financial sector, and more specifically, in Investment Banking. Furthermore, this insight opened my eyes to different areas of the bank and I was able to determine which area I would be most suited to. I would certainly credit my time at Nomura in helping me determine my future career path.

Yes, plenty of networking opportunities. We were openly encouraged to to email anyone within the bank and ask for time to chat or shadow them. Furthermore, there were a number of networking lunches arranged for us, where we had the opportunity to network with senior members of the organisation, and talks by other employees, where there were opportunities after to chat and find out about their work.

I very much enjoyed the networking and social event and I found them to be very valuable events.

Yes, lots of sporting and volunteering opportunities for employees to get involved in.
