The Role
Interesting experience in a specialized field of work, good contact with clients
I was encouraged to meet everyone and get involved in their work. Not everyone showed an interest for me.
My line manager was a great person and gave me valuable guidance throughout the internship, but not the whole team
Not very busy. I was the only person that joined as an intern so there was not much work planned for me. There was the expectation that I would go around and ask for things to do, but at the same time do things that demonstrated my skills. This combination is difficult because people usually gave things that required manual work and a long time, not interesting things.
Minimum responsibility was given to me. I was mostly involved in internal things and not client facings, which is the main business of WTW
I have previous work experience, so I saw things that I have done before. There was no official training planned for the interns in the team. But I got involved and learned about things that are intellectual property of WTW. Not sure how useful those will be in the future.
The Company
Nice in general but not anything special. Most people are at their computers all day.
From the HR perspective very good. I had all the information that I needed. From my team perspective could be better. For example, the didn't know how to help me to with getting the laptop and doing the initial admin things.
I didn't get the impression that there was a big investment from the company's perspective. There was not any planned training sessions, but they seemed to be interested in my experience and my feedback.
Company Parties/Events
I wouldn't be against working here full time, so I can have more options, but I will keep looking.
The Culture
Not really. The department that I was working for only hired one intern and there was no social events planned with the interns from other departments.
Cost of living is very high as the offices are in the central London. Socializing options are available
Good, it is London after all. There are many options.
Yes, there are many socials organized every week that are funded by the company
