The Role
I had a very enjoyable experience working at Lida. I liked the other interns I was chosen to work with, this was important as we were doing a lot of group work. The other workers were also super helpful, kind and nice. The work I was doing was also very fulfilling as we were briefed on Monday and presented on the friday.
Yes. I felt welcomed. We had line managers who looked after us, taking us out for a meeting outside of the office to make sure we are settled in well. We also has an introduction day and a presentation briefly outlining how our internship would go and what tasks we would be doing weekly.
My line manager was very helpful, answering any queries I had for the systems or the final presentation. This was very important as the marketing research systems were difficult to operate at first. Furthermore, we had the internship manager who I spoke to when I felt uncomfortable and when I needed help for certain situations.
Very. During the first week, the tasks were slower as we had one main brief to work on. However, the following weeks were busier and we had more briefs as well as workshops booked. There were moments which I felt like I could do more work but such moments were sporadic and fleeting.
This is difficult as we were given full independence within our briefs and our campaigns but they were idea based. Thus, if we did come up with really exceptional ideas, they could be implemented in the future. But, this being said the briefs we were working on were not real-time client briefs.
Firstly, the regular presentations meant that my confidence and public speaking skills were tested and improved. The group work also meant that my team skills and leadership skills were also utilised. The tasks at hand too were challenging which meant that I had to do plenty of research, note-taking and reading.
The Company
Every Friday there is an agency meeting when everyone comes together to share snacks, drinks and announcements. This makes a very calm and chilled atmosphere. Furthermore, everyone was very laid-back and open to talk. There were also 'get to know me' meetings with the department heads which allowed for a comfortable working environment.
The internship was set up to be very well organised because the weeks were planned out beforehand. On the introduction day we were told what we would be doing as well as given out packs on the meetings we would have each day. The line managers also briefed us making sure we were on track.
I felt that LIDA invested a lot of personal training and development. This was through the weekly meetings with my line managers and support from the recruitment head who insured that all personal questions were answered. The management staff also looked out for all the interns which helped us to integrate well.

I cannot answer this question definitely. From the previous cohort, a job opened up and one intern got it. From this precedent and advice I have learned that a job may be secured after the internship but this cannot be guaranteed. Nonetheless, I am not interested in a permanent role and thus have not enquired further.
The Culture
Yes there was a very good social scene. As previously explained the fridays were a great way to socialise. The canteen too provides a way to talk and spend time with the other interns. The office also email when there is free food out or everyone to eat which also allowed mixing.
I lived at home and commuted to work. This was not a difficult journey as my parents home is not too far. Thus, living costs were fine. Socialising was okay too, friday drinks were a good time to socialise. The other workers were also open to socialise any time of the day.
I was working in central London, oxford circus. This is an area where the nightlife is very popular. I, however, am not particularly interested in such activities. I am not the biggest fan of clubs but other interns said that the nightlife was good, as expected. I am not the best for this.
The social scene is very popular and important to the company. The weekly drinks, BBQ lunches, wheel of fortune, birthday cake celebrations and general chill no dress code means that there is a very nice social scene. The company offers an 8 week course for anyone who wants to join a stand-up club.
