The Role
Good placement overall with a great company but struggled with supervisor being unhelpful at times
Learnt key lab skills which will be useful for a career in chemistry and also learnt key skills that can be applied to other jobs
The Company
Fun could be had and everyone gets on well but could also be serious when the time was needed
Was fully trained on equipment and in lab techniques and will be able to apply these skills and training later in life
Financial Bonus
Limited without a PhD
The Culture
Great social environment amongst students on placement. Within the lab there was also a good social atmosphere with lab/ team trips and socials being a regular occurrence
Cost of living same as at uni but limited socialising in Stevenage itself. However very close to London
A few pubs and one club. However close to London which has better nightlife
Great sports opportunities within organised clubs and alone if wanted. Very welcoming community
