The Role
I felt very valued by my colleagues on my placement. I was encouraged to speak up and share my opinion and always listened to.
I received a lot of support by my supervisor when I needed it.
It varied on a day to day basis how busy I was. On some days I was very busy and stayed later, whilst on others I had more time to read around my project.
I was able to learn a wide range of laboratory techniques on my placement, which I believe will come in handy in the future. I was also encouraged to present at meetings, which helped me gain confidence in presenting.
The Company
I received many opportunities in terms of personal development. My interests were listened to and I was given the opportunity to learn new methods or attend seminars.
The Culture
Compared to the previous cities I have lived in the cost of living is high around Stevenage.
Unless you drive into London, the nightlife is not great.
