The Role
Great opportunity to get involved in real med chem projects, attend meetings, discuss both chemistry and biology. IPs are part of teams that include graduates but also more experienced employees.
IPs are really valued in their teams and are encouraged to give ideas.
Might vary depending on the supervisor, but mine encouraged me to get involved in site activities, attend lectures and conferences...
Quite variable, from really busy to more relaxed some other days
I was given a good amount of responsibility in my project, being able to give ideas, discuss them and take them into practice.
Lab skills as well as other soft skills will definitely be really useful for my future career.
The Company
Really friendly but sometimes a bit dull.
Good organization throughout the placement
Great development opportunities, from talks and conferences to talks in front of the chemistry community.
Flexi Time
Sports and Social Club
Subsidised/Company Gym
Financial Bonus
Company Parties/Events
Hopefully I will come back! Great company.
The Culture
Good social scene, with IP unite organizing big events and other smaller parties happening during the year.
Relatively expensive, but nothing compared to London.
Stevenage is quite boring, but London is so close it's OK
There's always something to do, again with London so close.
