The Role
I really enjoyed my internship at BMW Group. It was easy to get integrated in the team. Everyone was very kind and happy to help.
I felt really valued which means I got interesting tasks and projects.
I always had the possiblility to ask if I wasn't sure about a certain topic. I also had the possibility to deep dive into specific topics which were the most interesting ones for me.
Sometimes I felt like I could do more work.
The work was very autonomous and I had the opportunity to work individually.
I have learnt a lot of strategic HR Management, about Employer Branding, Working Time, Grading, Compensation & benefits and diversity which will assist certain subjects at my home university.
The Company
The atmosphere was very confortable and pleasent with open offices, flat hierarchies, there was always the possibility to talk to supervisors easily.
It was well organised. I also had the opportunity to participate in a workshop in Wales, I have been to Rolls Royce Manufacturing in Goodwood, Mini plant in Oxford. In general the days were very diverse.
I think for an internship that only takes two and a half months it is untypical. However, I received feedback from my supervisor.

Working from home
BMW has an amazing corporate culture. I can really identify myself not only with the products and services which BMW provides but also with the values. I could really imagine to work for BMW later.
The Culture
Yes, the other interns were very friendly. It was easy to get in touch with them. There was also good team spirit.
I have to say that working for BMW in Farnborough was great, but the town Farnborough itself is just horrible. There aren't any opportunities to spend quality time in the city as it is really not attractive. Luckily, London is just half an our away by train which compensates it a bit but still the cost of living is quite high in comparison to quality.
There is nothing to do in Farnborough.
I don't know I haven't tried to get involved in activities outside of work. However, I think there aren't so many.
