The Role
The task completed were interesting and needed engagement with different teams, which I liked. I also enjoyed that I could go on tours of different power plants.
I felt valued by my collegaues which helped boost my confidence within the working environment.
I was given the best support by my manager and supervisor. They were helpful when i needed help with anything and they were always there to point me in the right direction.
There were days where i was fairly busy and there were days when i had nothing to do.
I was responsible for authoring a few important documents, organising meetings and coordinating a few events which is a right amount of responsibility for my experience level.
Majority of the skills i acquired are life skills that can be used on a daily basis. Some of the skills include people skills needed to interact with different people around you especially people we work with. Others include organisational skills and analytical approach to solving problems ranging from university projects to real world problems.
The Company
The atmosphere was very welcoming and i felt like i could walk up to different people within my department to ask for help.
I had to work within one department during the whole year. The managers had objectives to be completed throughout the year, this gave the placement a good structure.
My supervisror and manager have taken time to help me with my interview and CV skills. The company have training programs that are assessible to everyone including placement students at no cost.
Flexi Time
