The Role
It has been a really enjoyable time at UBS. There are lots of speaker sessions and the people are very friendly.
I was given a few pieces of work by my colleagues that will add value to the firm, but I also received a lot of ad hoc projects.
I had weekly meetings with my manager and she offered a lot of constructive feedback.
It depends on the day, some days I have a lot to do and others I am free enough to do some additional training sessions online.
I was given some responsibility during my time, due to the technical nature of the work, I am unable to do a lot of things.
I have learnt so much from the program, the sessions, the computer trainings and meeting with colleagues. It doesn't assist in my degree directly, but it does help me understand the world of banking more.
The Company
It is quite relaxing, people are very friendly and are happy to have a chat and tell you about their roles.
It is really well organized. I gained exposure to many other aspects of the division.
We had 4 days of initial training and some computer based training after that. Additionally, we could self-register to more sessions on the company university. My colleagues offered sessions to help me understand areas I have a particular interest in.
Company Parties/Events
They are not hiring a large proportion of interns, so it is quite difficult to get onto the graduate program.
The Culture
Generally quite good, we have team socials and intern socials.
Central London isn't the cheapest place to live.
Quite good, plenty of pubs and clubs if you are interested. Lots of good restaurants too.
Yes, there are lots of volunteering opportunities and company activities that gets sent to your email. Some events are advertised in the lobby too.
