The Role
Amazing! Would definately, whole-heartedly recommend the Summer Diversity Internship Programme to all those that qualify.
The most friendly, caring and kind bunch of colleagues that anybody could hope for!
Manager met with me on a daily basis for a short-while to discuss work, and all other related topics. Other non-managerial colleagues also took the time to get to know me, buy me coffee. All were extremely friendly and professional.
Was never bored. Department / Manager / Colleagues organised a lot for me to see and discuss. Wasa never bored. All ensured that I was getting on perfectly well.
I got told what was expected of me, and basically led it all from beginning to end. Note that, support was always available, guidance was always there, but there was a sense of independance - which was superb and really prepares you for real working-life in time to come.
The skills, knowledge and expertise gained will shape my future no doubt: truely inspirational colleagues to learn from, and guide you so that you can only improve even more !
The Company
A friendly atmosphere, academically intense at times. All had a perfect balance of work and play: which is how it should be !
All i's were dotted, and t's were crossed. Couldn't have asked for a more well-organised placement: I really got an entire overview of government in the eight weeks that I was there. FANTASTIC!
Was taken to range of communication courses and self-development courses. Internship was very well financially rewarded.

Working from home
Am definately applying for a full-time position - this internship was the most influential factor to this decision.
The Culture
A facebook page was set-up, there were opening and closing ceremonies, there were also networking opportunities with other fellow placement students during the internship. Opportunities for a good social scene were orchestrated well by the internship organisers so very well done. Lasting friendships have been formed.
London - so expensive in terms of accommodation (though I was living with family hehe!). Canteen for food was reasonably priced. Internship was very well financially rewarded anyhow.
Amazing central-london location, couldn't have asked for anything better!
Tonnes of organisation and colleagaues were always keen to inform me and take me to many. Also lots of departmental functions, e.g. picnics, afternoon lunch, evening dinners. Splended!!
