The Role
I initially applied for an audit internship, however I did not particularly enjoy the work associated with the role. However, I loved the company and the people around me which made the experience very enjoyable.
Everyone, from 1st Year Associates to Partners gave me the time of day.
We were given a three day intense training course at a residential venue outside of London. But training didn't stop there. I was given help from everyone I worked with, and no question was too simple to ask.
Work wasn't as bad as I thought. Generally in by 8.45 out by 17.30 although there was one night when I had to stay till about 19.30 Alongside my actual internship work, I had a project that we were to do in pairs and present at the end of the internship, so even if there wasn't 'proper work' there was always something for me to do.
During my internship I led a meeting with the financial controller from one of my clients (which was a listed company so not exactly a chump little business either!) I was given work to do and then left to do it. Very proactive and a lot of mutual respect was involved.
I went back to uni very selfmotivated and proactive.
The Company
For the majority of time I was in the East Midlands & Bham offices which were a lot smaller than the London ones. The culture is the best I've experienced at a company. People will come up to your desk if they haven't met you before and just start talking. Everyone goes for lunch together and theres a games room upstairs! I spent a bit of time in the new London office, which is a lot busier and more work focused (lunch at the desk type of place). Although on the plus side, the canteen has a huge selection of food!
Everything ran smoothly. Didn't have any problems, and was given the opportunity to organise my own internship.
As an intern, everything is very intense. I spoke to graduates and they've told me that PwC will do LOADS to make sure you get a really good training program if you join.

The Culture
East Mids was fine since I lived at home. London on the other hand is...well...its London!
Everyone goes to either Loughborough, Nottingham or Leicester for nights out
