The Role
The experience was very useful. there was an emphasis on customer experience as well as professional competence.
very much so they made me feel welcomed and thrust lots of responsibility on me in the beginning. There was a sense of ownership about what I was doing. This made workdays very rewarding and worthwhile. As much as possible they try to not make you feel like a pseudo - employee on the periphery, although to some extent it is inevitable.
There was a clear plan form the beginning of what objectives I was meant to meet in each week. There were personal logs to be filled in and conference calls to monitor progress.
Relatively busy. there are always the odd days that are less intense but overall there is always lots to do and lots to learn.
In terms of responsibility it is a gradual process. The more you ask for and demonstrate you can handle, the more you will be given.
The skills, Technical and otherwise learnt from the experience served to bridge the gap between some parts of academia and the more nuanced world of work. It is also helpful to see how things work in practice.
The Company
It was fine generally, friendly and professional. Never any sort of tension and good team ethic.
It could have been more structured in terms of workdays and duties, but I do understand the emphasis on allowing the interns to delve into what they would personally like to learn.
In terms of personal development there is a lot that the bank will usually do to help you through your personal development plan.Through banking exams and other objectives, the bank does invest in its employees.

Very appealing, there is a strong emphasis on work life balance that would draw in anyone who wants to make a positive contribution.
The Culture
Generally yes, we all got on pretty well and tried to support each other.
it was fine, I worked close to home and as such there wasn't really an added cost.
I wouldn't know personally, I'm assuming its fine if you're into that stuff.
yes, the city is fine and very homey there is lots to do to stay occupied.
