The Role
The internship programme is a great way to set out a platform for your long term goals. You are able to meet members from various departments which could be interesting for young people who know that they want to be in the banking sector but do not know what role they would be suitable for. My knowledge has been increased to a better level and I assure anyone who has the op[opportunity to do this internship will love it. I would highly recommend this programme to this to anyone who wants to gain some life time skills that they can then further develop.
During my internship I was treated like I was always part of the team. Everyone is respectful and is treated fairly. I felt welcomed every day of the whole 8 weeks.
I was guided every step of the way. The people in your team are always willing to take time out from their role and help you as they are understanding that it may take you time to learn some of their processes.
I was always given tasks. This meant that I was learning something every week. If not then I was able to watch other staff members do their job role to enhance my learning.
The staff try to involve you as much as possible in tasks. When possible they would let you do certain tasks from which you would gain knowledge.
I believe I gained some valuable skills that I can now carry forward and it will completely help me through my third year at university as I have put my learning in to practise.
The Company
It was nice environment to work in. Everyone get along and are always willing to help each other. The communication skills are to a very high standard as everyone is confident at approaching each other if they have any questions that they may need help with.
I believe it was well structured. The give you a weekly plan and along with that your able to do more things on the side as the managers will always look for opportunities to take you to a branch or department.
The company do invest a lot of time in the individual as the staff members are willing to give you time to explain tasks to you in detail until you are fully clear about what your are doing. Not many companies do that son I was offered a lot of support which was nice.
it depends on if they feel that you fit in and are suitable for the role. However there is a high chance of gaining employment after the internship.
The Culture
It was quite good as I only had the train cost other than that is was convenient when it came to cost.
I lived at home so the nightlife was the same.
Yes of course you are able to visit different branches and departments in different locations. So it is quite interesting.
