The Role
Excellent internship. It was well organized, I learnt a lot, I meant a number of senior people, the pay is extremely generous for summer interns, HR is well organized and there is the opportunity to get a full-time offer at the end.
I was only given actual work that helps the analysts and senior staff. Although some tasks can be considered "boring", they have to be done and, in any case, most were genuinely interesting. I felt greatly valued and an integral part of the team.
Although they were all very busy, I could go and see them to ask questions at almost any time, they usually assumed I knew nothing as an intern, which ensured that I got a complete understanding of what they were talking about. Overall extremely supportive.
12 hour days and I was pretty much busy throughout. There were a few down times here and there, but you always had some personal work you could dig into or I'd spend a bit of time looking for subjects of interest of Bloomberg. Overall though, I was really busy.
I was given responsibility to build entire financial models for initiation and to update a number of models/comments following earnings. I felt valued by this and it did seem that I had the trust of my team.
I learnt more during this internship than in my 4 years of studies to date. Nothing comes close to having a practical experience, especially when you are well supervised and given actual responsibilities.
The Company
Super nice team. Everyone's really friendly and interns aren't looked down upon. Very senior people, including MDs, would take time off their day for you and my manager even invited the whole team for lunch for my birthday!
Well organized. Training was quick and efficient, we were guided throughout, we had a lot of events during the internship (networking events, breakfast with MDs, HR updates, performance appraisal, farewell party, etc.).
I feel like the firm spends a lot of you. On top of the actual money spent on this program (salaries, dedicated HR team, housing allowance, etc.), they also invested a lot in terms of training and in terms of time senior staff would spend with us.

All interns are eligible for an offer. As I write this, I still don't know if I got one, but there is headcount for recruitment. Should the internship go well, there are great prospects for a career in this firm.
The Culture
A lot of events organized with other interns, we got to know each other during training and we organized ourselves via watsapp groups.
London is expensive, especially for short-term lets. Life around Canary Wharf isn't the best in my opinion.
Due to the hours (6:30 in the office in the morning) I limited nightlife to going out to bars + there isn't that much around Canary Wharf.
Yes, quite a few events organized and lots of opportunities to go for afterworks.
