The Role
I found the placement very useful as it gave me a real insight into the firm, its people, the work life balance and most importantly the work I would be conducting as a trainee.
Everyone was very welocming and tried to make me feel part of the team.
My work was always checked and I received feedback on all the work I completed.
The Company
Everyone was very friendly and I was often taken out to lunch on a couple of occasions
Everyone in the office knew I was the placement student. I always had things to do and was given key dates in advance e.g. the date of the assessment day
I was so pleased to obtain and training contract with the firm - Shoosmiths friendly atmosphere and people were a big influence
The Culture
In the first week of my placement, there was another placement student is the office aswell. We often went to lunch together and shared experiences which was nice.
I live in Nottingham, which was the city I conducted my placement in. I am therefore used to the nightlife.
There was not much to get invovled in outside of work at the time of my placment in 2008
